About this project
Located in the Montgó Natural Park, Ca Gesmil emerges amidst the wooded landscape of Jávea, respecting it and striving to minimize its impact.
Set in a privileged environment, the house rests on a very steep slope. It utilizes a single platform that mediates between the natural topography of the surroundings and a broken volume that follows the natural slopes and emerges discreetly.
The strategic arrangement of the volumes, in conjunction with a large swimming pool, directs views towards the vastness of the Jávea valley. All of this is framed by Mediterranean vegetation that acts as a transition between the natural environment and the built elements.
The result is a house that responds to every movement of the terrain, which in turn determines its form. In this way, Ca Gesmil not only respects its surroundings but also seeks to engage in a dialogue with them, through form, light, and materiality.
